Enable and disable real-time protection of Windows Defender

You can prevent spyware and other unwanted programs attacking your computer, turn on Windows Defender real-time protection and select all real-time protection options.

Real-time protection means that you receive a warning when spyware or potentially unwanted software attempts to install itself or run on your computer. Additionally, you receive a warning message when a program tries to modify important settings in Windows.

To disable Windows Defender, follow these steps.
To open Windows Defender.
Press Control Panel
Press safety
Press the security center
Top left is Windows Defender
Press the Windows Defender
Select options from the Tools menu
Uncheck use real-time protection
